Under the Patronage of the Palestinian Embassy, WWHO to Hold Launch Conference in October to Showcase Projects Supporting Palestinians
The conference will bring together Turkish and international institutions to discuss humanitarian needs in Palestine and showcase projects and proposals that open new avenues for cooperation, partnerships, and support for the Palestinian people.
The Worldwide Humanitarian Organization (WWHO) held discussions with the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Türkiye on preparations for the organization’s launch conference, scheduled to take place on October 22, 2026, under the patronage of the Embassy. The discussions also addressed mechanisms for cooperation and coordination to support humanitarian projects aimed at Palestine.
The discussions took place during a visit by a WWHO delegation to the Embassy on Thursday, August 20, where the delegation met with H.E. Dr. Nasri Al-Jaish, Ambassador of the State of Palestine, in the presence of First Counsellor Azmi Abu Ghazaleh, Deputy Ambassador. WWHO was represented by Dr. Hamed Ibrahim and Ms. Ebru Cunaydin.
The two sides provisionally agreed to hold the conference at the Islamic Organization Hall, followed by a luncheon for participants at a nearby restaurant, providing an opportunity for continued discussion and networking among the participating organizations.
WWHO plans to invite around 40 relevant Turkish and international institutions and organizations to the conference. Ambassador Nasri Al-Jaish also confirmed that he would personally extend invitations to a number of institutions and organizations to participate.
The conference is expected to provide a platform for presenting a range of humanitarian projects and proposals related to Palestine, while also discussing needs and priorities, as well as ways to support and finance them. Participants will also explore opportunities for new partnerships that can contribute to strengthening the humanitarian response.
During the meeting, Ambassador Nasri Al-Jaish held a phone call with Sheikh Dr. Hatem Al-Bakri, Director of WWHO’s Office in Palestine, and briefed him on the agreements reached regarding the conference and joint cooperation. Dr. Hamed Ibrahim also invited Dr. Al-Bakri to participate in the conference and contribute to its activities.
The conference is planned to feature four keynote addresses by H.E. Dr. Nasri Al-Jaish, Ambassador of the State of Palestine; Sheikh Dr. Hatem Al-Bakri, Director of WWHO’s Office in Palestine; Dr. Hamed Ibrahim, President of WWHO; and Ms. Zahra Selçuk, Head of the Women’s Affairs Department at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
At the conclusion of the meeting, the WWHO delegation presented Ambassador Nasri Al-Jaish with a “Cooperation and Loyalty” shield in recognition of his warm reception, cooperation, and support for humanitarian efforts and initiatives, particularly those aimed at supporting the Palestinian people.
The delegation emphasized that the honor reflects WWHO’s appreciation for the Embassy’s role in strengthening coordination and cooperation and supporting humanitarian initiatives dedicated to serving the Palestinian people.
Over the coming period, WWHO will continue coordinating with the Embassy and relevant stakeholders to finalize the list of invitees, prepare the conference program, identify the projects and proposals to be presented, and complete the necessary organizational, media, and logistical arrangements.
